Egyptian Commercial Service: We would like to increase the visibility of the Egyptian Commercial Office in Accra in order to encourage Ghanaian businesses to interact with us seeking cooperation with Egyptian companies, which will ultimately increase trade and investment between Egypt and Ghana.

Mid East Information: What key challenges or industry gaps are you looking to address through this event?

Egyptian Commercial Service: The construction industry in Ghana is growing at a fast pace, with many foreign contractors and imported building materials. We would like to position the Egyptian construction and building materials sector in a competitive position in this market. Hopefully, through our participation in this event, we will highlight the potential of this sector for the Ghanaian business community and government entities.

Mid East Information: Why do you believe Ghana Investment and Trade week) and its co-located shows Africa Build Show and Megawatt is an important platform for your industry segment?

Egyptian Commercial Service: Ghana Investment and Trade Week, alongside its co-located Africa Build Show and Megawatt, represents a strategic and timely platform for the Egyptian construction industry. As the Egyptian Commercial Office in Accra, we view this platform as an opportunity to deepen bilateral trade and investment ties between Egypt and Ghana, especially in sectors where both nations have complementary strengths.

The Africa Build Show aligns with Egypt's expertise in construction materials, engineering services, and infrastructure development. Egyptian companies have extensive experience in large-scale projects across Africa and are eager to partner with Ghanaian stakeholders in building sustainable infrastructure.

Similarly, the Megawatt show provides an opportunity for showcasing Egypt's capabilities in renewable energy and power generation technologies. Both these sectors are increasingly important to Ghana's economic development goals, particularly in energy access and industrial expansion.

Egyptian Commercial Service: As we represent the Egyptian Government, being part of the Egyptian Ministry of Investment and International Trade, we provide trusted connections with reputable Egyptian companies. Since, we are a government agency, our sole objective is to increase trade and investment between both countries. Taking into consideration that Egyptian products can be competitive in terms of both price and quality, especially that Egypt and Ghana are both members of the AfCFTA, which gives preferential treatment for their products.

Mid East Information: What kind of collaborations or partnerships are you hoping to foster at the event?

Egyptian Commercial Service: We hope to foster mutually beneficial collaborations. Both Egypt and Ghana are African countries and active members of the AfCFTA; therefore, increasing trade and investment between them strengthens the continent and aims at bringing prosperity.
