Iran Ready To Resolve Issues With US, Pezeshkian Tells Saudi Crown Prince

(MENAFN- Khaama Press) Iran's Pezeshkian assured Saudi Crown Prince that Tehran is ready to resolve disputes with the US based on international law.

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, in a phone conversation with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, expressed Iran's readiness to resolve its differences with the United States through international frameworks. Pezeshkian acknowledged Saudi support during regional tensions, especially concerning the ongoing conflict with Israel.

He noted that Iran's retaliatory missile attack on a U.S. base in Qatar was in direct response to American strikes on Iran's nuclear facilities. Pezeshkian emphasized that Iran has no ambitions beyond its rights and is committed to resolving disputes based on international principles.

Mohammed bin Salman welcomed the idea of talks between Iran and the U.S. and urged that negotiations begin as soon as possible. The Saudi Crown Prince also assured Pezeshkian that no regional state would allow its airspace or American bases to be used against Iran.

The Saudi leader described the Iranian strike on the U.S. base in Qatar as a clear violation of Qatar's sovereignty but added that Saudi Arabia remains committed to calming tensions. He also welcomed the current ceasefire between Iran and Israel, encouraging all parties to honor the truce.

A statement from the Saudi Foreign Ministry confirmed that Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman had reiterated his support for diplomatic solutions, underlining that peaceful dialogue is key to eliminating the causes of tension in the region.
