Ukraine Reports Eleven Dead in Russian Missile Strike
(MENAFN) Ukraine reported on Tuesday that a Russian missile attack in the Dnipropetrovsk region has claimed the lives of at least 11 people.
“Nine people died in Dnipro as a result of an enemy attack. Two more were killed by Russians in Samar. Thus, the number of victims of terror in the region has increased to 11,” Dnipropetrovsk Governor Serhiy Lysak wrote on Telegram.
Lysak later revealed that 153 individuals sustained injuries, with 12 in critical condition. “Medical assistance has already been provided to 18 children. The youngest patient is only six months old,” he added.
Earlier statements from the governor described how the strike in Dnipro sparked a fire and caused damage to a dormitory, a gymnasium, and an administrative building. The attack also impacted a passenger train.
Ukraine’s national rail operator, Ukrzaliznytsia, confirmed via Telegram that a passenger train traveling between Odesa and Zaporizhzhia was damaged, but emphasized there were no casualties onboard.
Russian officials have not yet responded to the claims made by Ukrainian authorities.
