Egypt, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain Underline Efforts To Prevent Mideast Chaos


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) CAIRO, June 18 (KUNA) -- Egypt, Iraq, Saudi Arabia and Bahrain on Wednesday underlined necessity of exerting efforts to prevent the area from sliding into further chaos, necessity of resuming Iranian nuclear program talks.
The Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs mentioned in a statement that this transpired in a phone call between Egyptian Foreign Minister Dr. Bader Abdulatti and his Iraqi counterpart, Fouad Hussain, Saudi Faisal bin Farhan and Bahraini Dr. Abdulateef Al-Zayani.
The foreign ministers discussed the Israeli occupation and Iranian escalation, as well as its ramifications on regional and international peace and security.
They exchanged perspectives on ways to contain the escalation, and instate a ceasefire to prevent expansion of conflict.
The ministers affirmed the necessity of resolving the conflict through political and diplomatic means, and agreed to continue coordinating to follow up with developments, intensify efforts and return to negotiations. (end)
