South Africa Criticizes Israeli Attacks on Iran

(MENAFN) The administration voiced “profound” alarm over Israeli strikes on sites inside Iran last Friday, encompassing alleged hits on defense zones, atomic facilities, and non military infrastructure.

That same day, AFP stated that Iran labeled Israel’s barrage of assaults an act tantamount to war, whereas US President Donald Trump cautioned Tehran that further “even more brutal” blows would follow unless it agrees to an accord over its atomic program.

Later that evening, Iran mounted counter attacks against Israel, with swift aerial raids and blasts reported in Jerusalem and Tel Aviv, the nation’s two biggest urban centers.

In Pretoria, the Department of International Relations and Cooperation (Dirco) voiced grave anxiety about accounts of civilian deaths as well as military losses.

Chrispin Phiri, spokesperson for the Minister of International Relations and Cooperation, Ronald Lamola, stated that “These actions raise serious concerns under international law, including the principles of sovereignty, territorial integrity, and the protection of civilians enshrined in the UN Charter and international humanitarian law.”
