Indonesia Reports Seventy-Five COVID Cases in 2025
(MENAFN) Indonesia has identified 75 COVID-19 cases across the nation since the beginning of the year, local media reported Wednesday, citing data from the Ministry of Health.
According to ministry spokesperson Aji Muhawarman, the majority of those infected have since recovered. He noted that two new cases were detected last week.
Health authorities are urging citizens to stay alert and continue adhering to COVID-19 safety protocols. These include wearing masks in public and steering clear of large crowds.
The advisory comes amid a modest rise in domestic infections and escalating international alarm over emerging virus subvariants.
"The Nimbus variant has not been found in Indonesia," Muhawarman stated, referencing a strain reportedly linked to the highly transmissible Omicron lineage.
He added that the dominant strain detected in Indonesia as of April has been the LF.7 variant, which is currently responsible for infection spikes in several countries.
So far, no COVID-19 fatalities have been recorded in Indonesia in 2025.
