India Plans Sending Delegations to Combat Terrorism
(MENAFN) India has announced its plan to send seven multi-party delegations to different countries, as well as the United Nations Security Council, in order to present its case against the alleged terrorism originating from Pakistan.
According to a statement from the Indian Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs on Saturday, “The All-Party Delegations will project India’s national consensus and resolute approach to combating terrorism in all forms and manifestations.”
The ministry further stated, “They would carry forth to the world the country’s strong message of zero-tolerance against terrorism.”
The delegations will consist of 31 leaders from India’s ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA) and 20 politicians from opposition parties, who will be supported by former diplomats.
This initiative was conceived after New Delhi felt that the international media had given inadequate coverage of its brief military conflict with Islamabad earlier this month.
Several Western media outlets have been criticized for presenting pro-Pakistan viewpoints regarding Operation Sindoor, New Delhi’s military response to a deadly terrorist attack in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir last month.
