Deadly explosion rocks Turkish plant, causalities included


(MENAFN) A deadly explosion at a chemical factory in Turkey’s western province of Izmir on Saturday resulted in the death of at least one worker and left four others injured, according to local news outlets.  

The news agency reported that the incident took place in the morning at a facility situated within the organized industrial zone of the Aliaga district. The agency attributed the blast to gas compression, which subsequently ignited a fire.

According to the agency, the four injured workers are in critical condition, and numerous gendarmerie teams, firefighters, and medical units have been dispatched to the site of the explosion.

Authorities have initiated a formal inquiry into the cause of the incident, as reported by the media source.
