Tourist Submarine Sinks Off Hurghada Coast, Multiple Casualties Reported

A tourist submarine carrying approximately 44 individuals sank off the coast of Hurghada, Egypt, on Thursday morning, resulting in at least six fatalities and nine injuries.

The vessel, identified as the Sindbad, was conducting an underwater excursion near the Red Sea harbor when the incident occurred. Emergency responders swiftly arrived at the scene, facilitating the rescue of 29 passengers. The injured, including four in critical condition, were transported to nearby medical facilities for treatment.

The nationalities of the passengers have not been fully disclosed. However, Hurghada is a renowned destination among international tourists, particularly from the United Kingdom and Germany.

The cause of the submarine's sinking remains under investigation. Authorities have yet to determine whether mechanical failure, human error, or environmental factors contributed to the disaster.
