
Municipalities All Set For Eid Al Fitr With Grand Preparations Underway
Doha, Qatar: Municipalities across the State have completed their preparations for Eid Al Fitr, ensuring clean and safe environments for worshippers and visitors by readying parks, public spaces, mosques, and beaches.
The General Cleanness Department of the Ministry of Municipality, in coordination with various municipalities, conducted extensive cleaning campaigns, covering 362 mosques and Eid prayer areas with the efforts of 315 workers, supervisors, and 73 vehicles. The campaigns cleared 3.34 tons of waste, including 730 kilograms of recyclable materials.
Al Rayyan Municipality intensified inspections of sweet shops, traditional kitchens, and food establishments to ensure compliance with health standards and the safety of food products.
It also ensured abattoirs' readiness and the safety of livestock, conducting 200 awareness campaigns for beauty salons, barbershops, and laundries to ensure adherence to legal requirements under Ministerial Decision No. (38) of 2025.
Doha Municipality focused on boosting health inspections in markets selling fruits, vegetables, nuts, and sweets while veterinary teams monitored abattoirs to ensure compliance with health regulations.
Al Shamal Municipality launched a comprehensive oversight plan involving food facility inspections, monitoring poultry, fish, and meat vendors, and sanitizing public facilities, Eid prayer areas, and mosques. It also intensified pest control efforts and implemented twice-daily cleaning shifts.
Al Shahaniya Municipality conducted around-the-clock inspections to verify food establishments' compliance with health standards. It tested 13 samples of sweets, fruits, and chocolates and prepared the central abattoir to operate from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., setting up teams for 24-hour complaint management.
Al Khor and Al Thakhira Municipality ramped up inspections of restaurants, traditional kitchens, commercial markets, and fish markets while increasing butchers and cleaning staff to efficiently serve customers.
Advanced equipment was used to clean Eid prayer areas, ensuring a pristine environment for worshippers.
Al Wakrah Municipality carried out extensive inspections of food facilities and tightened oversight on beauty salons and laundries, while Umm Salal Municipality prepared Eid prayer areas and public parks for visitors to enhance citizen experiences during the holiday.
The Ministry of Municipality reaffirmed its commitment to providing a clean and safe environment during the Eid celebrations. It urged the public to follow health guidelines and cooperate with municipal teams to maintain public cleanliness, ensuring an enjoyable festive atmosphere.
