Chinese Military Conducts Patrols in South China Sea Warning Philippines
(MENAFN) The Chinese military carried out standard patrols in the South China Sea on Friday, as stated by a spokesperson.
Tian Junli, a representative from the Chinese People's Liberation Army Southern Theater Command, explained that the patrols were conducted while the Philippines persisted in its attempts to involve non-regional nations in "joint patrols" and advancing illegal claims in the South China Sea.
He argued that these actions have presented destabilizing factors, undermining regional peace and stability.
“We warn the Philippine side against provoking incidents and taking actions that escalate tensions in the South China Sea,” the spokesperson stated, further noting that seeking external assistance would be in vain.
The military exercises took place the day after U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth expressed support for Manila in the face of alleged threats from “communist China.”
