US Begins Diplomatic Talks Between Israeli Occupation, Lebanon


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) WASHINGTON, March 11 (KUNA) -- "We are bringing together Lebanon and Israel for talks aimed at diplomatically resolving several outstanding issues, including the release of Lebanese prisoners," US Deputy Presidential Special Envoy Morgan Ortagus.
In a statement, Ortagus said "Today, the United States announced we are bringing together Lebanon and Israel for talks aimed at diplomatically resolving several outstanding issues between the two countries: the release of Lebanese prisoners, the remaining disputed points along the Blue Line, and the remaining five points where Israeli forces are still deployed."
"Military to military talks concluded in Naqoura, Lebanon today, and subsequently five Lebanese prisoners have been released back to Lebanon from Israel.
Everyone involved remains committed to maintaining the ceasefire agreement and to fully implement all its terms.
We look forward to quickly convening these diplomat-led working groups to resolve outstanding issues, along with our international partners," Ortagus added. (end)
