Hamas calls for protection of Palestinian women from Israeli ‘atrocities’

(MENAFN) On Saturday, Hamas, the Palestinian resistance unit, appealed to the international community and its organizations to protect Palestinian women from the continuing “Israeli atrocities.”

Hamas stated on International Women's Day: “The world's observance of this day serves as an opportunity to expose the crimes committed by Israel against Palestinian women.”

“Palestinian women have been subjected to savage bombings, daily massacres, displacement, forced exile, detention, and torture during Israel’s ongoing offensive.” the group stressed.

It also pointed out that “more than 12,000 Palestinian women have been martyred, with thousands more injured and detained, and hundreds of thousands forced to flee their homes.”

Hamas declared that these actions represent a “stain on humanity, particularly for those who claim to protect women’s rights,” holding them accountable for the continuous infringement of these rights.

The group also denounced the conditions experienced by Palestinian female prisoners in Israeli prisons, in which they faced “the most heinous forms of physical and psychological torture.”
