Egypt President, Jordan King Reject Palestinian Displacement Amid Talks

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) CAIRO, Nov 27 (KUNA) -- Egyptian President Abdelfattah Al-Sisi and Jordan's King Abdullah II on Wednesday reiterated their rejection of any effort to forcibly displace the Palestinians, pushing during talks on Wednesday for an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.
The formation of an independent Palestinian state, based on 1947 border lines with East Jerusalem as its capital is an integral part of the two-state solution to the Middle East conflict, the Egyptian president's spokesman Mohamed El-Shennawy said in a statement.
Ahead of an Egyptian-hosed conference on December 2 to shore up humanitarian aid efforts in Gaza, he underlined the need to allow the unimpeded delivery of aid to the enclave, saying such a move was an international obligation.
They went on to welcome a fresh ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon's Hezbollah group, saying that they backed any measure aiming to preserve Beirut's stability and sovereignty. (end)
