Russia Reacing Out To Azerbaijan And Georgia To Import Electricity In Emergencies


(MENAFN- Trend News Agency) BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 15. Russian PJSC Inter RAO has proactively engaged with Azerbaijan and Georgia to explore opportunities for importing 600 MW of electricity during critical operational scenarios, Inter RAO management board member Alexandra Panina told reporters, Trend reports.

“We have initiated a collaborative engagement with the neighboring energy ecosystems of Azerbaijan and Georgia to leverage their capabilities for electricity supply during critical operational scenarios,” she said.

Panina emphasized that "in emergency situations, we would request these countries to be prepared to supply us with 300 MW each."

“Nevertheless, we have not yet obtained a response from Georgia and Azerbaijan,” she added.
