Uzbekistan Likely To Obtain Access To Russian GLONASS Satellite System's High-Precision Signal


(MENAFN- Trend News Agency) TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, September 20. Uzbekistan may obtain access to the high-precision signal of the Russian Global Navigation Satellite System (GLONASS), Trend reports via a decree by Russian President Vladimir Putin.

"To accept the proposal from the Russian government to hold negotiations on concluding an agreement between Russia and Uzbekistan for providing access to the high-precision signal of GLONASS," the document said.

Earlier, a meeting took place between President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and a Russian delegation consisting of Deputy Prime Minister Vitaly Saveliev, Presidential Advisor Igor Levitin, and Chairman of Russian Railways Oleg Belozyorov.

The meeting participants emphasized the importance of accelerating industrial cooperation projects in transportation, further expanding partnerships in the fields of automotive, rail, and air transport, and the training of highly qualified engineering personnel.
