Musk claims Biden allocated billions to promoting unlawful immigration

(MENAFN) Elon Musk has accused the Biden administration of reallocating billions of taxpayer dollars away from supporting Americans and instead using the funds to aid undocumented migrants. Musk, a strong supporter of former President Donald trump and head of the Department of government Efficiency (DOGE), which aims to reduce government waste, has been vocal about the financial strain caused by illegal immigration.

Musk claimed that federal policies under Biden have incentivized unlawful border crossings, placing a significant financial burden on US citizens. "Under the Biden administration, billions of dollars were shifted from helping Americans in need to facilitating illegal immigration. Super messed up!" Musk stated in a post on X.

He referenced estimates from the Federation for American Immigration Reform, which suggest that illegal immigration cost taxpayers over $150 billion in 2023, covering healthcare, education, and law enforcement expenses. While the Biden administration defends its approach by balancing enforcement with humanitarian efforts, critics like Musk argue that the policies have weakened border security and strained government resources.

Musk, who visited the US-Mexico border in Texas in 2023, has continued to advocate for stronger border controls and immigration reform to address the challenges posed by the migrant surge.
