China claims that NATO is profiting from Ukraine war

(MENAFN) Chinese Defense Ministry spokesman Zhang Xiaogang condemned NATO's stance on China's role in the Ukraine conflict, labeling it as profit-driven and manipulative. Zhang's remarks, delivered during a press briefing on Thursday, challenged NATO's recent declaration that characterized Beijing as a facilitator of Russia's actions in Ukraine, dismissing it outright as biased and deceitful.

Highlighting what he described as NATO's history of exacerbating global conflicts, Zhang accused the alliance of perpetuating instability from Ukraine to various other regions worldwide. He criticized NATO for allegedly fanning the flames of conflict rather than contributing constructively to peace efforts. Zhang reiterated China's commitment to promoting dialogue and mediation between Moscow and Kiev, emphasizing Beijing's proposed 12-point roadmap for peace and its ongoing diplomatic efforts in the region.

China has consistently refuted accusations of enabling Russian sanctions evasion or supporting Moscow's defense industry, maintaining its stance on advocating for peaceful resolutions to international disputes. Zhang's remarks underscored Beijing's position on global peace efforts and its critique of NATO's geopolitical strategies amid the ongoing Ukraine crisis.
