Demchenko: Enemy Is Not Deploying Additional Forces Near Border With Sumy Region

(MENAFN- UkrinForm) The situation near the border with Belarus remains unchanged, with no movement of Belarusian troops recorded.

According to Ukrinform, this was reported by the spokesperson for the State Border Guard Service, Andriy Demchenko, on the air of the national telethon "United News".

"The situation along the border with Belarus is unchanged, we have not seen such a significant threat recently, and we do not see any movement near our border on the other side, but we continue to be vigilant because we must be prepared for any situation," Demchenko said.

Speaking about the situation along the border in Chernihiv and Sumy regions, he noted that a high level of shelling by the Russian Federation remains there.

"Chernihiv and Sumy regions are subject to daily shelling, as well as Kharkiv region. Most of the attacks, if we compare Chernihiv and Sumy regions, are in Sumy region. Here, the enemy uses artillery, aviation, and attack drones to strike at the territory of Ukraine. Most of them are aimed at populated areas, which is why I can say that Russia continues to confirm its status as a terrorist country, as it targets civilians," the spokesman said.

He also noted that the enemy is not currently deploying additional forces near the border with Sumy region.
