Uzbekistan Reveals Volume Of Produced Electricity


(MENAFN- Trend News Agency) TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, July 24. Uzbekistan produced 36.8 billion kWh of electricity from January through June 2024, Trend reports.

The data from Uzbekistan's Statistics Agency shows that the production volume shows a 3.5 percent decline compared to the same period last year (38.1 billion kWh in January–June 2023).

At the same time, the country's electricity production increased to 5.7 billion kWh in June 2024, compared to 3.2 billion kWh in May 2024.

Meanwhile, Uzbekistan's Thermal Power plants JSC generated 17 billion kWh of electricity, which is 111.8 percent of the plan from January through June 2024.

The funds, in the amount of $257.8 million, were implemented under the investment program.

Within the framework of investment projects, construction work is currently underway to build modern energy-efficient combined cycle gas turbines with a total capacity of 1,065 MW at the Talimarjan thermal power plant and 650 MW at the Navoi thermal power plant.

As a result of the full implementation of the planned repair work, the existing capacity of energy equipment will be increased to 281 MW, and the production capacity of boiler equipment will be increased to 150 tons per hour.
