Serpent passes away from man bite

(MENAFN) In a bizarre incident in Bihar, India, a man reportedly bit a snake to death after it attacked him while he was sleeping at a railroad project camp. The incident, which has garnered attention from local media, involved Santosh Lohar, who was resting when a snake, believed to be venomous, slithered into his tent and bit him.

Upon waking to the serpent's attack, Santosh retaliated fiercely. He first struck the snake with an iron rod and then proceeded to bite it multiple times, ultimately fatally injuring the creature on the spot. This unusual response was motivated by a local belief that one must bite back twice if bitten by a snake to counteract the effects of the venom.

Despite Santosh's conviction in this folk remedy, many in the community expressed skepticism about whether the snake was actually venomous. Following the attack, he was hospitalized to treat his snake bite wound but is now on the road to recovery. This incident highlights the complex interplay between local customs and reactions to wildlife encounters in rural India.
