Royal Initiative: 18 Underprivileged Families In Ramtha, Irbid Receive New Homes

(MENAFN- Jordan Times) AMMAN - Eighteen underprivileged families in the Ramtha district of Irbid Governorate on Monday received new homes as part of a Royal initiative established following directives from his majesty King Abdullah during his field visits and meetings with the residents and dignitaries of the governorate.

The initiative, launched in 2005 and covering the entire kingdom's governorates, aims to provide a decent living for the most needy and deserving families, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

The families were selected based on criteria set by the Ministry of Social Development, considering factors such as family size, income level, and health conditions.

Royal Court Chief Youssef Issawi, who heads the follow-up committee for Royal initiatives, handed over the keys and certificates of ownership to the beneficiary families.

The ceremony was attended by Social Development Minister Wafa Bani Mustafa and Irbid Governor Radwan Atoum.

Issawi and the attendees toured the new homes, which were built to the highest technical specifications and quality standards, especially for the elderly and people with special needs.

Each home comes fully furnished and equipped with essential household items and electrical appliances, ensuring a comfortable and dignified living environment for the recipients, Petra reported.

Issawi also inspected the Queen Rania Garden Hall Theatre project, prepared under Royal initiatives to serve the local community for various events, national celebrations, seminars, and lectures.

Issawi also inspected the expansion project of the Hauran Plain Association Centre for the Disabled, which will increase the centre's capacity by 40 beneficiaries, bringing the total to 112.

The new expansion, which is currently 60 per cent complete, includes an additional floor and classrooms covering 275 square metres.

The facility will be furnished and equipped with necessary devices, including an elevator for people with disabilities.

The centre also provides care and rehabilitation services for children and teenagers (aged 4-18) with intellectual and hearing disabilities, learning difficulties, autism, and Down syndrome from the region and neighbouring areas.

In a press statement, Issawi emphasised that the Royal initiatives aim to meet the essential needs of citizens in various sectors, including ensuring decent life for underprivileged families and helping them cope with difficult economic and living conditions.
