Delayed U.S. Aid Weakened Ukraine's Position On Battlefield - Zelensky

(MENAFN- UkrinForm) A delay in the U.S. decision to allocate a new aid package to Ukraine has weakened the country's position on the battlefield.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said this at a press conference on Monday, Ukrinform reports.

"The turbulence of the electoral process [in the U.S.] has a big impact, starting with a package that has been delayed for so long and not voted on for so long. I believe that the long delay in this decision weakened our position on the battlefield. We lost the initiative without wanting it," he said.

According to Zelensky, if the main partner delays the provision of weapons, "then the military will not be positive about that." He noted that now Ukraine must seize the initiative on the battlefield with Russia, but it is not easy.

"Now the package has been voted on, but it still takes time for these weapons to arrive. We still need time for the boys to train on these weapons. And since they are training not here, but abroad, it also takes time," Zelensky said.
