Israel detains over 30 more Palestinians during military raids in West Bank

(MENAFN) At least 30 more Palestinians were arrested by Israeli forces during military raids in the occupied West Bank, according to prisoners’ affairs organizations on Sunday. The raids targeted several cities, including Ramallah, Jerusalem, Hebron, Qalqilya, Tulkarm, Jenin, and Jericho, as reported by the Commission of Detainees’ Affairs and the Palestinian Prisoner Society in a joint statement.

The statement highlighted that detainees faced abuse, severe beatings, and threats against their families, along with widespread acts of sabotage and destruction of homes. This latest wave of arrests has raised the total number of Palestinians detained by the Israeli army in the West Bank to 9,655 since October 7, 2023, according to Palestinian sources.

Tensions in the occupied West Bank have been escalating following Israel's military offensive in the Gaza Strip, which has resulted in nearly 38,600 casualties since October 7. The Health Ministry has reported that at least 574 Palestinians, including at least 136 children, have been killed in the West Bank, with nearly 5,350 others injured due to Israeli military actions.

Additionally, Israel faces accusations of genocide at the International Court of Justice. The court's latest ruling called for an immediate halt to military operations in Rafah, a southern Gaza city where over a million Palestinians had sought refuge from the ongoing conflict before it was invaded on May 6.
