India Launches 'Plant For Mother Earth' Campaign In Cairo


(MENAFN- Daily News Egypt) To promote environmental awareness and action, the Embassy of India in Cairo hosted a tree-planting drive at the Child Museum in Heliopolis on World Environment Day. This initiative is part of the global 'EkPedMaaKeNaam' (One plant for Mother Earth) campaign, championed by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, encouraging individuals to contribute to a greener planet.

The event was attended by Nader Moustafa, Member of Parliament, Nabil Helmy, Chairperson of the Heliopolis Association, Mona Samir Ramadan, Manager of the Public Awareness Department at the Ministry of Environment, and other officials and environmentalists.

Indian Ambassador to Egypt, Ajit Gupte, urged all participants to join the tree plantation drive as a tribute to Mother Earth, emphasizing that collective action can ignite an“environmental revolution.” Several saplings were planted within the museum premises, symbolizing India and Egypt's shared commitment to sustainable development and environmental preservation.

Ambassador Gupte stated:“If everyone joins this initiative, there will be an environmental revolution,” highlighting the significance of individual and community efforts in addressing global climate challenges. The 'Plant for Mother Earth' campaign aims to inspire people worldwide to take tangible steps toward a greener future.
