Jordan Condemns Israeli Targeting Of Displaced Palestinians In Gaza

(MENAFN- Nam News Network) AMMAN, Jul 8 (NNN-PETRA) – Jordan, yesterday, strongly condemned Israel's continued targeting of shelters for displaced Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, referring to the Israeli bombing of a school in central Gaza's Nuseirat camp, a day earlier.

This latest Israeli strike on the UN school-converted shelter inflicted at least 16 deaths among the displaced, most of whom were women and children.

In a statement, Sufian Qudah, spokesperson for Jordan's Foreign Ministry, stressed the kingdom's absolute condemnation of Israel's continued perpetration of“war crimes” against the Palestinians in Gaza, saying, it reflected Israel's blatant disregard for international law, international humanitarian law, and all human and moral values.

Qudah added that, the Israeli move is also a flagrant challenge to the international call for the cessation of hostilities and the protection of civilians in Gaza.

The spokesperson also rebuked Israel's clear intention to continue violence, reject peace, terrorise Gazan residents, and increase their suffering by launching repeated attacks on humanitarian facilities and shelters.

The official renewed his call for the international community, especially the United Nations Security Council, to take immediate and firm steps, to stop these crimes and provide protection for Palestinian civilians, warning that, international silence would encourage Israel to continue committing more crimes against the Palestinian people and thus exacerbate their suffering.– NNN-PETRA
