4 Children Killed, Teenager Wounded In Logar Blast

(MENAFN- Pajhwok Afghan News) PUL-I-ALAM (Pajhwok): Four children were killed and a 19-year-old boy injured when an old mortar shell they were playing with exploded in central Logar province, police said on Saturday.

Police spokesman Maulvi Ahmadullah Anas told Pajhwok Afghan News the explosion happened in Musa Qala area of Pul-i-Alam city. Four children were killed and a 19-year-old boy was injured in the incident.

“The shell went off when the children started playing with it,” he added.

The injured were evacuated to Kabul for treatment in critical condition.

Last month, a 15-year-old boy lost his life in a mortar shell explosion in Kare Mamorin area of Pul-i-Alam city.
