Turkish outputs to SCO nations increase by 85 percent during 2019-2024

(MENAFN) Turkish output to Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) member nations have witnessed a massive surge during the last five years (2019-2024), marking an increase of 85 percent, as mentioned in a report by a state-run news agency on Tuesday.

Additionally, Türkiye's output to SCO member countries saw a rise of 26.1 billion U.S. dollars during last year, increasing from 14.1 billion 5 years ago (2019), which accumulates nearly 10 percent of the nation’s overall output. On the contrary, Turkish imports from SCO member nations almost increased by 100 percent, amounting to 106.3 billion dollars during 2023 in comparison to 5 years ago which amounted to 55.6 billion dollars.

The news agency attributes this expansion to Turkey’s bolstered engagements with SCO nations in latest years as well as improvements in commercial partnerships. Founded over 20 years ago (2001), the SCO currently contains nine member states: China, Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, India, Pakistan, in addition to Iran, encompassing nearly 50 percent of the world's population and accounting for around 25 percent of the worldwide economy.
