Qatar's Tarsheed program 2024 indorses energy efficiency, sustainability


(MENAFN) Qatar General Electricity and Water Corporation (Kahramaa) has launched the registration for its 2024 National Programme for Conservation and energy Efficiency, known as Tarsheed. This initiative invites participation from government and private entities, individuals, researchers, and students to innovate and implement projects that conserve electricity and water, aiming for sustainable practices.

The Tarsheed Competitions encompass 12 categories tailored to various sectors, promoting the rationalization and efficient use of energy and water resources. Participants can register through Kahramaa's website until September 2024. Categories include residential, industrial, sports, government, commercial, and hospitality buildings, focusing on enhancing awareness and fostering best practices in energy conservation.

Additionally, the program features competitions such as the Best Building Retrofitting and Sustainable Building Design, encouraging the integration of energy-efficient technologies and principles into existing and new construction projects. The Best Smart Solution in Sustainability and Energy Efficiency category promotes innovative applications that enhance conservation efforts through interactive tools and solutions.

Further initiatives under Tarsheed include enhancing district cooling systems, promoting water recycling initiatives, and recognizing outstanding projects in energy efficiency. The program also engages students through competitions like the Tarsheed Short Story and Best Graduation Project for Energy Efficiency, aiming to inspire future generations in sustainable development.
