China's state railway group expects 860M trips during summer travel season

(MENAFN) China's state-owned railway group, China State Railway Group Co., Ltd., has projected that approximately 860 million railway trips will be undertaken during this year's summer travel rush, which commenced on Monday. The peak travel period is expected to span 62 days, concluding on August 31, during which an average of 13.87 million passenger trips are anticipated daily.

Traditionally, the summer travel peak marks a bustling season for China's extensive railway network. This surge in travel is driven by various factors including college students returning to their hometowns, heightened demand for transportation due to family visits, and increased leisure travel across the country.

The state railway group's preparations include ramping up services and capacity to accommodate the influx of passengers during this period. The extensive railway network plays a crucial role in facilitating safe and efficient travel for millions of Chinese citizens, ensuring connectivity across major cities and regions.
