RFK Jr. claims that Ukrainian assault on Russian citizens is terrorism

(MENAFN) Robert F. Kennedy Jr., United States presidential candidate and prominent figure, has strongly criticized Ukraine's recent military action targeting civilians in Sevastopol, Crimea, labeling it as "terrorism" and accusing the United States of being complicit in an act of war against Russian civilians. Kennedy's comments come in response to reports from the Russian Defense Ministry, which detailed Ukraine's firing of five American-made ATACMS missiles armed with cluster munitions at Crimea, resulting in casualties and injuries.

According to Russian sources, four of the missiles were intercepted by air defenses, but the fifth detonated above a beach in Sevastopol, causing fatalities, including two children, and injuring over 150 individuals. In his statement, Kennedy pointed out that the ATACMS missile launcher, supplied by the United States, utilizes sophisticated targeting systems operated exclusively by American personnel within Ukraine.

Kennedy condemned the attack as a blatant act of terrorism against civilians and asserted that the involvement of United States-supplied weaponry implicates the United States in an unauthorized military engagement against Russian civilians, stressing that only Congress holds the constitutional authority to declare war.

The incident has sparked international outcry, with former United States Congressman Ron Paul characterizing it as a provocative action that demands a response from Moscow. Republican Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene also voiced condemnation, highlighting the gravity of such cross-border military incidents and urging reflection on potential repercussions if roles were reversed.

The situation underscores escalating tensions in the region and raises concerns about the implications of foreign military involvement in regional conflicts, prompting calls for diplomatic intervention and accountability for actions that endanger civilian populations. As global leaders and policymakers navigate the complexities of international relations, the fallout from such incidents could influence broader geopolitical dynamics and strategies moving forward.
