Narendra Modi, Indian Prime Minister, To Visit To Moscow

(MENAFN- Khaama Press) The Kremlin announced that Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Moscow. This will be Mr. Modi's first trip to Moscow since the beginning of Russia's invasion of Ukraine.

Indian media reported that the Prime Minister of India will visit Russia in the first week of July.

However, Yuri Ushakov, an advisor to the Russian President, said on Tuesday, June 25th, that the exact date of Mr. Modi's visit to Russia will be announced later. Narendra Modi last visited Moscow in 2019.

Dmitry Peskov, the Kremlin spokesman, also told reporters that he could confirm Modi's visit to Russia.

He said,“We are indeed preparing for the visit of the Prime Minister of India to Russia and will announce the date of the visit in due course.”

India and Russia have longstanding relations, not only in the field of nuclear energy cooperation but also in military and defense collaboration.

In recent Indian elections in early 2024, the ruling party secured a decisive victory, extending its term in office. Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) won a majority in the Lok Sabha, the lower house of India's Parliament. This election reaffirmed Modi's leadership and the BJP's position in Indian politics.

The elections also saw significant shifts in regional politics, with several states showing trends favoring regional parties, indicating a diverse political landscape across India.
