Qatar Foundation's Education City Summer Programmes Set To Begin

Doha: Qatar Foundation's summer programmes are back – with activities, camps, and classes taking place across Education City throughout June and August, at both indoor and outdoor facilities and for people of all ages and abilities.

Indoor sporting activities such as gymnastics and swimming are available at locations including Education City Recreation Centre and Qatar Academy Msheireb, while football academies with PSG Academy are taking place at QF's Qatar Academy Al Wakra and Tariq Bin Ziad School.

Ladies Night fitness activities at the air-conditioned Education City Stadium will take place for ladies only, while for children, reading challenges and a summer camp will be held at Qatar National Library. And with the Ability Friendly Summer Camp taking place at Multaqa (Education City Student Center), children with disabilities can participate in activities such as gardening, or sports such as swimming. Qatar Foundation's (QF) indoor facilities also include male and female gyms, squash courts, a games room, table tennis, bowling, and multi-purposes courts, among others, across Education City.

Qatar National Library: The Summer Reading Challenge, which runs until 10 August, is aimed at motivating children to read and maintain their language skills. The Summer Camp for children, which offers exciting educational activities as an alternative to screen time, runs from 23 June – 29 August.

Gymnastics Camp: Summer gymnastics classes offer a comprehensive program for young gymnasts to improve their skills, build strength, and enjoy creative activities. The class is open for ages 4-12 from June 9 – July 4 at QF's Recreation Centre. Summer Art & Design Program: Aimed at high school students, the Virginia Commonwealth University School of the Arts in Qatar program, which takes place from July 7-25, is designed to empower participants to shape their educational journey by offering an introduction to various majors and allowing them to delve deeply into a chosen discipline.

Ability Friendly Summer Camps: Two summer camps will run this year, for two weeks each, and are open for those aged 5-18 years. Activities will include cooking, gardening, craft classes, and sports such as swimming, football, and playball.

Swimming Camp: Both QF's Recreation Centre and Awsaj Recreation are offering swimming camps designed for swimmers of all levels from ages 4-55, with a focus on developing swimming skills and enhancing water safety.

Ladies only activities: A ladies only camp at Multaqa is designed to encourage athletic development, teamwork and self-confidence among women and girls ages 6-30, offering sports like football, basketball, and volleyball from July 1-31. Similarly, Ladies Night at Education City Stadium offers a wide range of sessions, with activities such as spinning classes, table tennis, boxing, and ability friendly activities. The next session will take place on August 5, for those aged 6 upwards.

Mukhayamna Sports Camp: Fostering personal growth and teamwork through a variety of sporting activities, the camp encourages participants to enhance their skills, develop coordination and build resilience in a supportive and competitive environment. Camps include ART Camp, Sports Camp and Skills Camp for boys and girls ages 5-6 and 7-13, and Leaders Camp and Quantum Camp for those aged 15 and above. The camps take place on various dates dependent on location between June 30 – August 15.

Football Camp: Designed for young football enthusiasts, the 2024 camps are focused on skills development, teamwork, and having fun on the field. Taking place at Multaqa, Tariq Bin Ziad School, Qatar Academy Al Wakra, and QF's Recreation Centre, the camps take place on various dates dependent on location from June 30 – August 30.
