Price Of 21-Karat Gold Hits JD47.2 Per Gram In Local Market

Amman, June 15 (Petra) -- Prices of 21-karat gold, the highest demand at local market, stood at JD47.2 per gram as a purchasing price, against JD45.2 as a selling price, an official said Saturday.
Jordan Jewelers Association's Secretary General, Ribhy Allan, told Jordan News Agency (Petra) that the price of 24-karat and 18-karat Gold amounted to JD54.7 and JD42.20 respectively.
The price of a Rashadi lira, weighing seven grams, stood at JD330, while an English lira, which weighs eight grams, reached JD380, Allan said.
Demand for gold in the local market has improved over the past week compared to the previous period of this year, and this will continue after Eid Al Adha in response to weddings, which increase during the summer season, Allan added
He added that gold prices in global markets on Friday reached $2,334 per ounce, after the release of US economic data on unemployment and inflation, which boosted gold purchasing.
