Indian Mango Exhibition At Souq Waqif Ends, Over 126,000Kg Sold

Doha, Qatar: The inaugural Indian Mango exhibition 'Indian Hamba' at Souq Waqif concluded yesterday, June 8, 2024, marking a significant success with a total of 126,935kg of mangoes sold.

The exhibition was organized jointly by Souq Waqif and the Embassy of India in Qatar, which ran from May 30 to June 8, 2024, featuring participation from 60 companies showcasing a diverse range of mango varieties from India, including Alphonso, Banganapalli, Neelam, and Malgova, etc.

General Supervisor of the Hamba Mango Festival, Khalid Saif Al Suwaidi expressed his satisfaction with the event's outcome to Qatar TV, stating, "We achieved great success in this exhibition, and public turnout exceeded expectations."

He added, "The volume of sales for the first edition is considered record-breaking."

The daily sales figures during the ten-day festival were as follows:

- First day: 8,500 kg

- Second day: 13,000 kg

- Third day: 15,000 kg

- Fourth day: 11,900 kg

- Fifth day: 8,850 kg

- Sixth day: 11,650 kg

- Seventh day: 13,353 kg

- Eighth day: 13,400 kg

- Ninth day: 15,500 kg

- Tenth day: 15,600 kg

Given its initial success, the Indian Hamba is set to become one of the most anticipated annual exhibitions at Souq Waqif.
