COP29 To Create More Opportunities For Co-Op Between Azerbaijan And Pakistan In Clean Energy - Azerbaijani FM
He made the remark at a press conference with Pakistan's DeputyPrime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar in Islamabadon 30 May.
“We believe that the upcoming eighth meeting of theAzerbaijan-Pakistan Joint Intergovernmental Commission to be heldin Islamabad later this year will give an additional impetus toeconomic cooperation. In addition, we invite representatives ofPakistani businesses to consider the opportunities offered by theinternational transit corridors passing through the territory ofAzerbaijan and the Baku International Sea Trade Port. Our Pakistanipartners can take advantage of favorable conditions and privilegesoffered by the Alat Free Economic Zone,” he said.
Furthermore, Bayramov noted that direct air communicationbetween the two countries contributes to the expansion of tourismand people-to-people contacts.
“Currently, there are six flights per week from Baku toIslamabad, Lahore, and Karachi. Last year, the number of Pakistanitourists visiting Azerbaijan reached 55,000. In the first fourmonths of 2024, the number is close to 20,000. Hosting the 29thsession of the UN Conference of the Parties to the UN FrameworkConvention on Climate Change, COP29, by Azerbaijan in 2024, willalso create additional opportunities for our cooperation in cleanenergy and green transition-related areas,” he added.
