Netherlands To Shut Embassy In Iran's Tehran


(MENAFN- Trend News Agency) BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 13. As a precautionarystep, the Netherlands will close its embassy in Tehran, Iran, andconsulate in Erbil, Iraq, on April 14, the Dutch Foreign Ministrysaid, Trend reports.

According to the information, the decision was made due torising tensions between Iran and Israel.

The ministry announced that it will decide on Sunday whether thenecessary consulate offices will be open on Monday.

As previously reported, General Mohammad Reza Zahedi, commander ofthe Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (SEPAH) for Syria andLebanon, and his deputy Mohammad Haji Rahimi were killed on April 1as a result of an Israeli Air Force airstrike on Damascus' Mezehneighborhood at around 17:00 local time. After that, tensionsbetween Iran and Israel rose.
