Amman, Oct. 25 (Petra) -- The Jordan Press Association (JPA) condemned with the strongest terms the brutal crimes committed by the Zionist occupation forces against defenseless civilians in the Gaza Strip, the destruction of hiuses and infrastructure, and the systematic targeting of journalists, media professionals and their families, the latest of which was muredering a number of family members of Al-Jazeera's reporter in Gaza, Wael Al-Dahdouh.
In a statement issued Wednesday evening, the JPA said that the Israeli occupation forces are killing journalists and targeting their families, to terrorize them and kill their morale, to discourage them from reporting the atrocities and massacres it commits and to hide the truth about these atrocities that history has never seen before.
The JPA reminded forces of the free world and human rights organizations that the death toll among journalists in Palestine and the Gaza Strip amounted to more than 19 male and female journalists, since the occupation launched its aggression on October 7 in the wake of the "Al-Aqsa Flood" operation, which came in response to the occupation's repeated and provocative attacks against the Palestinian people and their holy sites.
The JPA expressed its anger and discontent at the world, international organizations, human rights organizations, professional and international journalistic unions, and childhood and women's organizations for standing by and watching these atrocities, with out any condemnation, while they raise their voice in support of human rights, women's rights, children's rights, and the rights of journalists. But today we see them watching the daily massacres of children, journalists, and defenseless civilians in the besieged Gaza Strip without doing anything. Rather, they continued to ignore and remain voicless, in a clear evidence of a blatant double standards".
The JPA offered its deepest condolences to all the martyrs, journalists and media professionals families, and to colleague Wael Al-Dahdouh over the death of his family members.
