(MENAFN- UkrinForm) Twenty-five combat engagements have occurred between Ukraine's Defense Forces and Russian occupiers in the past 24 hours. The relevant statement was made by the General Staff of the armed forces of Ukraine (AFU) on facebook , an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
Russian troops have launched one missile strike and 31 air strikes, and opened fire with multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS) on Ukrainian positions and settlements 52 times over the past day. Following Russian terrorist attacks, casualties among civilians were reported, as well as the damage caused to residential houses and other civil infrastructure.
The threat of Russian missile and air strikes is persisting all over Ukraine, according to the General Staff.
In the Volyn and Polissia directions, the operational situation remained rather unchanged.
In the Siverskyi and Slobozhanskyi directions, over 20 settlements were affected by Russian mortar and artillery strikes in the Chernihiv, Sumy and Kharkiv regions.
In the Kupiansk direction, Russian invaders launched an air strike near the Kharkiv region's Kotliarivka. Such settlements as Borova, Kupiansk and Kyslivka were affected by enemy artillery and mortar strikes.
In the Lyman direction, Russian occupiers launched air strikes near the Kharkiv region's Cherneshchyna; and the Luhansk region's Novoiehorivka and Bilohorivka. Over 10 settlements were affected by enemy artillery strikes.
In the Bakhmut direction, Russians conducted launched air strikes near the Donetsk region's Bila Hora and New York. Over 15 settlements were affected by enemy artillery strikes.
In the Avdiivka direction, Russian artillery and mortar strikes affected the Donetsk region's Oleksandropil, Novokalynove, Avdiivka, Sieverne and Pervomaiske.
In the Marinka direction, Ukrainian forces continue holding back Russia's onslaught near the Donetsk region's Marinka. The enemy conducted unsuccessful offensive actions near Novomykhailvka, and launched an air strike near Krasnohorivka. Russian artillery strikes affected Krasnohorivka, Marinka, Pobieda, Kurakhovo, Novomykhailivka and Katerynivka.
In the Shakhtarske direction, Russian invaders launched air strikes near the Donetsk region's Vuhledar and Staromaiorske. Such settlements as Vodiane, Bohoiavlenka, Prechystivka, Blahodatne and Urozhaine were affected by enemy artillery strikes.
In the Zaporizhzhia direction, Russian occupiers launched air strikes near the Zaporizhzhia region's Novodanylivka, Orikhiv and Robotyne. Over 15 settlements were affected by enemy artillery strikes.
In the Kherson direction, Russians launched artillery and mortar strikes on Stanislav, Veletenske and Antonivka.
Meanwhile, Ukraine's Defense Forces continue the offensive operation in the Melitopol direction, where they are gaining a foothold within the recaptured frontiers and carrying out counterbattery measures.
In the past 24 hours, Ukraine's Air Force has launched 12 strikes on Russian personnel clusters, and four strikes on enemy surface-to-air missile systems.
Ukrainian missile and artillery units hit one enemy artillery system in firing position and two radar systems.
