Israeli minister claims ’it`s my job’ to employ acquaintances

(MENAFN) Israel’s Regional Cooperation Minister, David Amsalem, of the governing Likud party has declined charges that he is involved in nepotism, after he looked to employ friends as well as personal connections to administration spots.

“That is my job, due to my authority to appoint directors,” Amsalem informed Israeli broadcaster Kan on Sunday. “I put forward people that I know and hold in high esteem,” he stated, also noting that this contains individuals within his private social circles.

Amsalem’s remarks came following a clatter with Government Companies Authority manager, Michal Rosenbaum, who had allegedly declined Amsalem’s employment proposals for numerous administration firms.

He, afterwards, asked for Rosenbaum to be fired from her post, a news agency stated on Sunday.

The Companies Authority, or the Israeli Corporations Authority, supervises the direction, implementation as well as regulation over majority of main companies in Israel.
