Indian Schools In Qatar Celebrate Independence Day With Patriotic Fervour

Doha, Qatar: The 77th Independence Day of India was celebrated across schools in the country with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervour.
The celebrations began with flag hoisting and included a host of meticulously curated cultural events that awakened a sense of pride among the audience.

Birla Public School

The celebrations at Birla Public School in Doha, began with the flag hoisting by Chairman Gope Shahani, Director CV Rappai, and Management Representative Chindhu Rappai, which was followed by the rendition of the national anthem. Head of Non-Academics, Vinod Kumar KV, Vice Principals, Radhika Rele and Edna Fernandez, Life Members, HMs, Teachers, Staff Members, parents, and students were present on the occasion.

The Chairman, in his Independence Day message, conveyed heartfelt greetings to the Indian community. Alongside celebrations, he also reminded of the sacrifices made for the freedom of the nation. He emphasized the role of education institutions in shaping the future of the nation.

Vice Principal, Radhika Rele led the pledge for a developed and self-reliant India. She also invited everyone to participate in the government initiative Meri Maati Mera Desh, by taking the online pledge and also reading the Flip book about the nation's unsung heroes.

DPS-Modern Indian School

DPS Modern International School fraternity gathered together to commemorate the Independence Day of India today. The Chief Guest Hassan Chougule, President DPS MIS unfurled the Indian national flag and all in unison, sang the national anthem. Speaking on the occasion, he extended the Independence Day greetings to all and highlighted the true essence of Indian democracy.

Principal, Asna Nafees addressed the gathering appealing to their nationalistic spirit, and remarked that the real purpose of education is self-actualization. She inspired young minds to contribute positively to the growth of a progressive, sustainable, and safe world for all. Azhar Jaleel Muhammed, a student of class XII C expressed his feelings on the occasion as a young citizen of the country and encouraged the youth of today to maintain a balance and celebrate the uniqueness of Indian culture and traditions.

The great day that emanates liberation, peace, and joy was marked by a host of meticulously curated cultural events which awakened everyone's feelings towards their motherland. The patriotic musical presentation and a scintillating dance performance by the talented students of DPS Modern Indian School evoked a feeling of allegiance and commitment in the hearts of all.

MES Indian School

MES Indian School, Abu Hamour branch (MESIS) held the celebration on the campus in the presence of parents and students. The occasion was inaugurated by the chief guest, Principal Hameeda Kadar, and Rashid, Head of Admin and Facilities of MES Indian school in the presence of Pramila Kannan, Principal, MESIS by hoisting the flag and saluting it with pride. The celebration also included cultural programs performed by students such as a patriotic dance, a patriotic song, and a speech by Pramila Kannan.

Olive International School

The Olive International School (OIS) management and staff gathered together on Tuesday, August 15, to celebrate the 77th Independence Day of India with patriotic fervor and enthusiasm. Chief Guests of the day Chairman Devis Edukulathur hoisted the Indian national flag amidst a gleeful gathering; while Juttas Paul, Principal Jacob Mathew, and Sajeeth George Edakkolathur hoisted the flag at Umm Salal and Khartiyath campus. The programme was presided over by the Senior Leadership Team and staff.

The school campuses were beautifully decorated with flags and balloons to celebrate the day and a series of programmes including messages by the dignitaries and cultural programmes were held. Principal Jacob Mathew speaking on the occasion addressed the gathering and urged the audience to cherish the coveted freedom and work towards a progressive nation.

Podar Pearl School

Podar Pearl School commemorated Independence Day with great pride and enthusiasm. The national flag was hoisted by Sam Mathew, President of Podar Pearl School. The formal address of the President of India, Droupadi Murmu on the occasion of Independence was delivered by Sam Mathew in a short discourse.

Present on the occasion were the Board of Directors, teaching and non-teaching faculty from all three campuses of the school.

Rajagiri Public School

Rajagiri Public School (RPS) began its celebration with flag hoisting by the Academic Director Dr. Prasant Palkkappillil. Principal Joshy Abraham addressed the gathering appealing to their nationalistic spirit and urging them to focus on sustainable development. This was followed by a musical rendition of a patriotic song by the staff members that awakened everyone's feelings toward the motherland.
