Kuwait Welcomes Libyan Stakeholders' Consensus On Electoral Laws
(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) KUWAIT, June 8 (KUNA) -- The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said the State of Kuwait welcomes the consensus, reached by the Libyan joint committee, on electoral laws that set the stage for presidential and legislative elections late this year.
The Ministry appreciated, in a statement on Thursday, the efforts made by Morocco to host the talks of the 6+6 committee and facilitate reaching the landmark agreement.
It voiced hope that the Libyan stakeholders will endorse the long-awaited agreement in the coming days in a way that could realize the aspirations of the brotherly people of Libya.
Negotiators from the House of Representatives and the High Council of State have held a recent round of talks in Bouznika city, northwest Morocco, which led to the consensus on electoral laws. (end)
