Qatar airways announces rapid growth plans at tourism fair in Berlin

(MENAFN) Qatar Airways has revealed its plans for growth as the travel industry continues to recover from the pandemic, during the ITB tourism fair in Berlin. The Gulf carrier intends to add seven new destinations, restore 11 others, and increase the frequency of flights to 35 markets by July 2023, which represents a 21% rise in flights compared to the same month last year. This comes as a welcome relief to the aviation industry which has been under enormous pressure due to the pandemic.

During the event, the Chief Executive of Qatar Airways, Akbar Al Baker, noted that the airline's dependence on deliveries from Airbus or Boeing is a concern due to supply chain problems which are likely to last for some time. Despite this, Al Baker remains optimistic and believes that the aviation industry is slowly rebounding from the challenges it has faced in recent times.

The airline's newly planned destinations include five in Europe, with three in France and two in Africa. Al Baker highlighted the importance of maintaining a conservative approach due to ongoing uncertainties, and the company will continue to monitor the situation closely.

Qatar Airways has been working tirelessly to restore its operations to pre-pandemic levels and is now making strides towards rapid growth. The company's objectives for the future are clear, and it appears that the airline is taking a steady and cautious approach to navigate through the ongoing challenges.
