US President, Polish Counterpart Discuss Efforts To Support Ukraine


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) WASHINGTON, Feb 21 (KUNA) - US President Joe Biden and his Polish counterpart Andrzej Duda discussed Tuesday shared efforts to support Ukraine, impose consequences on Russia, and strengthen NATO.
In a statement, the White House said that Biden praised the support of the people of Poland for welcoming over 1.5 million Ukrainian refugees into their communities.
In addition, the two leaders discussed their countries' growing cooperation in the energy sector, including civil nuclear energy, strong bilateral defense relationships, and the importance of the democratic values that underpin the transatlantic alliance.
The US President is on an official visit to Poland, where, in addition to meeting with President Duda, he is expected to deliver a speech on support for Ukraine as well as meet with the nine Bucharest leaders consisting of Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, and Slovakia.
