Limak Celebrates Another Success with FC Barcelona’s Spotify Camp Nou Stadium Reconstruction Contract
(MENAFN- Bensirri PR) Kuwait, February 1, 2023 -- Limak, the Turkish company constructing Kuwait’s T2 project, announced today it has inked an agreement with FC Barcelona, the world renowned Spanish Football Club, for the construction of the Club's Spotify Camp Nou stadium. The construction is set to start in June 2023.
The landmark agreement was signed on Tuesday, January 31, in the stadium’s Josep Sunyol Presidential Box by the President of FC Barcelona Mr. Joan Laporta, and the President of Limak Holdings Mr. Nihat Özdemir, together with Haldun Fırat Köktürk, a member of the Limak Yatırım board. The signing ceremony was attended by the Turkish ambassador in Spain, Burak Akçapar, and the Turkish general consul in Barcelona, Selen Evcit, the Chair of Limak Holding, Ebru Özdemir, and Vice-President of Limak Holding, Serdar Bacaksız, and members of the Club's Board of Directors.
Limak President Mr. Nihat Özdemir said, “Today’s signing marks a new chapter for the Club and for Limak. We cherish the great responsibility of upgrading Spotify Camp Nou. It is not only important to FC Barcelona and their fans, but also to the city of Barcelona and Catalonia. Following a competitive tender process, this project shows that we can broaden Limak’s vision and horizons. This incredible project motivates us to complete a facility that all people of Barcelona will be able to feel proud of”.
FC Barcelona Mr. President Joan Laporta said, “The new stadium will be the jewel in the crown of Espai Barça, the transformation and modernization project of one of the most important sports facilities that has been carried out in Catalonia since the 1992 Olympic Games. The new Spotify Camp Nou is the legacy we will leave to our sons and daughters, to our grandsons and granddaughters Barcelona fans”. “The construction project of the new stadium entails a great professional responsibility for both parties, Club and Limak, which we assume with the maximum guarantees of success until the month of November 2024, coinciding with the start of the celebration of Barça's 125th anniversary”.
