Sonipat, Aug 2 (KNN) Automotive Component Manufacturers Association of India (ACMA) recently hosted one of its regular workshop to overcome challenges pertaining to critical customers and quality concerns in the auto component industry.

Training programmes in the field of mechatronics, LCA, EV, Design, quality, future technologies and leadership etc are conducted frequently to cultivate the culture of 'Zero Defect & Zero Customer Complaint' in the industry.

They are held at its Centre of Excellence (ACoE) – Saksham, located in the IIT-Delhi campus in Sonipat.

Speaking exclusively with KNN, the chief guest of the programme Rakesh Chhabra, President of RAI Industries Association said,“Consistency in quality is essential for the auto industry to compete at the international level which will give momentum to the 'Make in India' initiative.”

“Zero Defect is prime for quality management, hence workshops and programmes designed by ACMA will be helpful for the automotive industry,” added Chhabra who also serves as Vice President at Federation of Indian Micro and Small & Medium Enterprises (FISME).

Highlighting the technological transformation in the automotive industry in India and across the world he said that to remain globally competitive and relevant to customers, it is imperative for the Indian auto component industry to ensure that our shop-floors as well as our products are world-class.

The Mechatronics lab at the centre is focused on imparting skills in the domain of automation and Modular Production Systems (MPS) while the Design lab aims to enable auto component MSMEs for designing and developing new products.

“We are hopeful that the industry will make use of this infrastructure and benefit from this new initiative,” said the apex body of the Indian Auto Component manufacturing industry.

ACMA's long-term vision is that the shared resources at the Centre must be utilised by the industry for co-development of products and creating Intellectual Property.

It also intends to create ACMA Centres of Excellence in all automotive hubs, each specialising in a unique domain. (KNN Bureau)
