São Paulo – Representatives of Dubai's global trade promotion program World Logistics Passport (WLP) are in Brazil for a series of seminars aimed at widening the network of members of the initiative, which has been present in 27 logistics hubs around the world, and attracting new Brazilian importers and exporters that could become users of the services of the program.

The road show starts on Monday (6) with an event aimed at partners like ports, airports, airlines, and terminal and logistics operators, held at the headquarters of the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce (ABCC) in São Paulo. The seminar is supported by the entity, which is also an official partner of the program.

The following day (7), there will be meetings with clients of the Viracopos Airport, a logistics partner of the WLP in Brazil, between companies that use it to export and import goods. On Wednesday (8) it is time to present the facilities of the initiative to DP World clients, which runs one of the largest terminals of the Port of Santos. On Thursday (8) WLP will have a meeting with the Commercial Association of Santos, São Paulo, with members that operate in coffee exports.

“We will discuss ways to widen the presence of the Brazilian coffee in the Middle East and Asia,” said Ronald Souza, director of WLP for the Americas.“The approach of WLP is understanding the barriers faced by each user and partner. Based on that, we study how to prioritize the shipment process to cut costs and reduce lead times, for example,” he added.

The World Logistics Passport (WLP) is a public-private initiative headed by the government of Dubai that brings together over 100 organizations, including ports, airports, terminal operators, airlines, logistics operators, and even business, investment and trade promotion agencies like InvestSP , another official partner of the program.

In addition to logistics facilities ranging from special rates and priority for companies and shipments in certain customs processes, WLP connects business partners in different parts of the world, being the logistics link between them. The World Logistics Passport is also a forum for exchanging good practices between foreign trade agents to foster global trade.
