China: Finland’s attempt to join NATO carries 'new factor' in relations


(MENAFN) Talking about Finland, China on Monday pressed countries looking to join the NATO to “follow the principle of security indivisibility.”

Zhao Lijian, representative for China’s Foreign Ministry stated that “China hopes all parties will follow the principle of security indivisibility and build a sustainable regional security architecture.”

in line with Chinese daily Global Times Zhao stated that “Finland's application to NATO will bring new factor to bilateral ties with China.”

At one time, Beijing has pushed back attempts to grow NATO.

On Saturday, the ruling Social Democratic Party government in Finland decided to attempt being a member for NATO association.
