Muttaqi Raises Ill-treatment of Afghan Refugees in Iran with Country's Ambassador to Kabul

Foreign Ministry of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan said that acting Foreign Minister Amir Khan Muttaqi met with Iran's ambassador to Kabul Bahadur Aminyan and raised the issue of the recent ill-treatment of Afghan refugees in Iran.

The meeting took place in Foreign Ministry on Sunday, April 10, 2022.

Spokesperson of the Ministry Abdul Qahar Balkhi in a series of Twitter posts said the Muttaqi asked the Iranian envoy to convey his deep concerns over the ill-treatment of Afghan refugees to Iran's leaders.

The Tweets further read that, Iran's ambassador called Afghan refugees in Iran Guests adding that Afghan refugees' behavior in Iran over the last 43 years has proven their love and interaction with the Iranian people.

This comes after a number of video clips went viral on social media showing Afghan refugees in Iran are being ill-treated and tortured for no reason by the people of Iran.
