The Ministry of Municipality has urged the public not to discard furniture outside their house before co-ordinating with the supervisor of public cleanliness in this regard.
The designated call centre can be contacted at 184 to remove such items properly, the ministry said in an advisory on social media. This is to maintain the aesthetic appeal of places around the country.
The ministry stressed that the haphazard dumping of waste on public streets is punishable under Public Hygiene Law No 18 of 2017.
